Year 4 (2029 entry): worth knowing now, not later
Before you choose the school, picture the Monday morning. The 11+ now comes in the summer of Year 5 — sooner than most families expect — so the earlier you understand the journey from your part of Swindon, the calmer the choice becomes.

Key dates for Year 4 families
- Year 5, autumn — Visit the schools. Open evenings run in September and October.
- Year 5, summer — The 11+ test. Dates are published by the schools.
- September 2029 — First day. Apply in Year 6, by 31 October.
Dates change each year, so always check the individual school's own admissions policy before relying on them.

Tell us your school, start year and postcode, then request or vote for your stop. Families from Swindon and nearby towns and villages are welcome. A free interest registration does not reserve a coach place, and under our normal terms nothing is paid until school places are confirmed in March.
